Dana Holding Corporation (NYSE: DAN) announced today that its Sorocaba, Brazil, facility was presented with the Toyota Quality Excellence Performance Award and its Bogota, Colombia, facility was recognized by General Motors Co. as Supplier of the Year in the powertrain and chassis category. These honors highlight Dana’s superior performance in product quality and customer satisfaction throughout the past year.
Dana’s Brazil facility received Toyota’s award for supplying Hilux pickup trucks and SUVs with high-quality rear axle center sections while maintaining a perfect quality scorecard, including zero defects, or parts per million (PPM) rejections. Securing a zero PPM rate is a significant manufacturing accomplishment and reflects the company’s dedication to producing the best quality parts for its customers.
The Colombia facility received GM’s recognition for outstanding performance in delivering innovative, high-quality driveshafts, axles, and modules, as well as excellent customer service. The Colombia location also was recognized for its efforts to develop the automotive industry in the country and provide competitive products to the marketplace.
“These recognitions are a true testament of Dana’s dedication to fostering strong relationships with OEMs through exceptional customer service and performance,” said Bob Pyle, president of Dana Light Vehicle Driveline Technologies. “Dana is committed to providing products that support customers in building robust, high-quality vehicles around the globe, and our efforts would not be possible without the hard work and focus of our employees.”
The Toyota Quality Excellence Performance Award is based on a strict set of quality criteria measuring supplier performance during the year, and was awarded to Dana in Sorocaba, Brazil, during an event in late April.
The GM Supplier of the Year Award honors companies that provide outstanding results in quality, delivery, technology, and competitive products, and Dana’s Colombia facility received the award during GM Colombia’s Annual Supplier Meeting in Bogota in late April.
