The International CES (Consumers Electronics Show) was held in Las Vegas in the United States for four days from January 8 to 11, 2013, and Alpine was there exhibiting at the event. More than 3,250 companies exhibited this year, occupying 1.92 million square feet of exhibition floor space, making this the largest CES in its 45 year history.
At the Alpine Booth, we displayed our new product lineup in three categories with “Play On” as our theme.
In the “Play Big” category, we introduced our large 8-inch screen AVN, the INE-Z928HD and other AVN systems. A demo board made using the dashboards of actual automobiles allowed visitors to compare our 8-inch AVN system directly with a factory OEM system, giving them the chance to experience firsthand the impressive presence of the large screen. Many installation kits specially developed for use in particular automobile models were also on display, showing off their beautiful installations.
In the “Play Smart” category, the TuneIt app—Alpine’s first smartphone app—was introduced. This is a unique app which, when linked to an Alpine Head Unit, permits acoustic control from the smartphone. An Audi A4 demo-car was on show for this, letting interested event-goers experience acoustic control using an actual TuneIt App. In addition, products such as the ICS-X7HD App Receiver, which is compatible with Siri Eyes Free Mode, Aha Radio, etc., was exhibited. Moreover, the TuneIt App and the ICS-X7HD won the prestigious CES Innovation Design and Engineering Awards.
And in the “Play Strong” category, Alpine showed its X-Power Amp Series along with the BASSLINE subwoofer, a component created in collaboration with the hip-hop group, Far East Movement—who appeared at the Alpine booth to promote the high power, high sound quality series.
