Images released soon after the enormous twin blasts that rocked the Chinese Port of Tianjin in August 2015 showed entire stockyards of burned out cars caught up in the destruction. Now details of the effects on OEMs’ operations in the area are coming to light, including halts on production, damage to stockpiles and alternative arrangements being made to allow for vehicle shipments. Operations at the tenth largest port in the world are unlikely to return to normal for months.
