Isuzu and Toyota to build fuel cell bus from 2026

The new model could be among the first vehicles to benefit from Toyota’s third-generation fuel cell technology. By Stewart Burnett

Isuzu and Toyota have announced plans to jointly develop and manufacture a new generation of fuel cell buses, with production scheduled to start in Japan during fiscal year 2026. The vehicles will be built by J-Bus, the 50:50 joint venture between Isuzu and Hino Motors, at its Utsunomiya plant in Tochigi Prefecture.
