The PSA Group has established a first-rate sales platform with the creation of PSA Retail Spain and Portugal, born of the merger of three of its companies. With 40 distribution locations (new, second-hand, after-sales) in the main cities of the Iberian Peninsula, PSA Retail Spain and Portugal is set to sell 56,000 new and used vehicles in 2016.
Symbolising the new milestone, PSA Retail has inaugurated 40,000 square metres of brand new retail space in Calle Doctor Esquerdo, in central Madrid. In addition to showrooms designed to match the personality and local market positioning of the Group’s three brands, the new facility has 12,000 square metres of workshops, with staff specialised in the repair and maintenance of the various models in the Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles line-ups.
It is an attractive and modern space, designed to offer the very best level of service to customers in Madrid.
With the opening of this hub at the very heart of metropolitan Madrid (less than a kilometre from Buen Retiro Park), the PSA Group now boasts a modern, elegant venue equipped with the very latest technology to promote the sale of its three brands in Southern Europe’s most populous city.
PSA Retail in Spain and Portugal aims to become a powerful and competitive distribution group.
Each year, it sells more than 33,000 new vehicles and 23,000 used vehicles, and bills more than 900,000 workshop hours.
Its 40 sale and repair facilities are strategically located in the biggest cities of the Iberian Peninsula. They are staffed by 1,400 employees spread across Spain and Portugal.
In total, PSA Retail represents almost one in five sales for the Group’s three brands in Spain and Portugal.
The flagship on Calle Doctor Esquerdo, featuring the full range of the PSA Group’s three brands in a prestigious setting
To mark the launch of its operations in Spain and Portugal, PSA Retail has created an impressive commercial embassy for Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles, centrally located in Madrid.
Covering a total of more than 40,000 square metres dedicated to cars, the new flagship has undergone a major facelift, and now features a lighting system using vastly more efficient LED lights.
The air-conditioning and fire-protection systems have been updated, and accessibility has been facilitated by means of doors and parking spaces specifically reserved for people with disabilities.
The new PSA Retail hub, located in the Retiro district, has embraced the latest trends in terms of technology and design.
The showrooms, which have a total floor area of 1,500 square metres dedicated to the display of new vehicles, serve to spotlight cars with a high level of technological content. They transcend their role as automotive display areas to become hi-tech venues that stimulate the five senses.
They are genuine multi-screen spaces, showcasing the various models and philosophy of each brand. Touch screens are used to create displays offering the most comprehensive information possible on each vehicle. For DS Automobiles, the inauguration is a real first, with the arrival of the DS Store concept in Spain. DS Store is an entirely independent commercial venue that allows the full range of models to be shown in a premium and hi-tech environment resonating with the positioning and the philosophy of the brand, which embodies French luxury in the automotive world.
For Peugeot and Citroën, the Calle Doctor Esquerdo site illustrates the important work they have done to raise their respective standards in terms of new vehicle display, ushering new aspects of their brand images into the PSA Retail space.
Used cars are housed in a dedicated 800 square-metre area specially designed to show 50 cars for which the adjective semi-new is a truly apt description of reality: each vehicle offered for sale is subjected to 93 key controls and comes with at least a year’s guarantee.
PSA Retail Madrid Doctor Esquerdo, 62 will continue to be a benchmark in after sales service, with a dedicated area that has also been thoroughly renovated. It is home to the only official PSA Group service centre in Spain approved for the repair of automatic gearboxes such as the EAT6, which equips numerous Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles models.
The 12,000 square metres of workshops are home to spaces dedicated to fast and complex mechanical repairs, vehicle electrical and electronics equipment, as well as body and paintwork.
The facility boasts the latest technological systems, with six state-of-the-art diagnostic machines and the most up-to-date vehicle painting techniques including spectrophotometers and high-performance varnishes, which guarantee an optimal finish.
The 14,000 customers who bring their cars to the workshop facility can take advantage of such services as online appointment management, the possibility of financing repairs or the loan of a courtesy car, as well as continuous promotions with fixed maintenance costs. Services are available from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Alfredo Vila Blanco, Managing Director of PSA Retail Spain and Portugal, said: The opening of the new Doctor Esquerdo branch gives the PSA Group a fully renovated sales and after-sales service outlet. The site is a new benchmark in the heart of Madrid, thanks to its strategic location, modern architecture and use of advanced technologies. It is an exceptional environment where more than 100 employees can dedicate all their talent to achieving our highest priority: offer a service that brings the greatest satisfaction to our customers.
Commenting on the inauguration, Christophe Mandon, Managing Director of Citroën, Peugeot and DS Automobiles Spain and Portugal, said: The inauguration of this site in the heart of Madrid is excellent news, following on from a very strong product offensive for the PSA Group. The new Peugeot 3008, the new Citroën C3 and the new DS Performance Line range can be seen in facilities that highlight their strengths, and in a modern and attractive environment that fully expresses the differentiated positioning and identity of the Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles brands.
