The plant in Altenmarkt (Austria) resumed production today after a fire that broke out Saturday, 20 February around 8 a.m.
The fire broke out in the magnesium foundry and spread to part of the building complex. Fire departments from the surrounding areas worked on the scene until Sunday afternoon.
The Austrian State Office of Criminal Investigation is currently investigating the cause of the fire. The exact amount of damages is currently being evaluated.
The injured employee, who had to be flown to the hospital in Linz (Austria), is out of danger and in a stable condition.
Already today, Monday, production can be resumed in the areas that were not affected thus ensuring an 80% capacity. Solutions for the rest of 20% production volume are being prepared.
