Peter Kössler (56) has been appointed managing director of Audi Hungaria as of October 1. He will move from the automobile manufacturer’s main site in Ingolstadt, where he has been plant director for more than eight years. Kössler will succeed to Dr. h.c. Thomas Faustmann (52), who, after eleven years as managing director in Győr, will move to Neckarsulm. There, he will succeed to Fred Schulze (48) as plant director. Schulze is to become the director of the plant in Ingolstadt.
Bringing valuable knowledge to new places, sharing expertise and experience, and continually growing those resources – those are the reasons for the personnel changes, stated Prof. Dr. Hubert Waltl, Audi Board of Management Member for Production and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. “We will only remain mobile and capable of moving things forward when we expand our horizons and think outside the box,” explained Waltl.
Waltl thanked Faustmann for his many years of service at Audi Hungaria and for his great contribution to the successful development of the site. “Faustmann has worked for our site in Hungary with enormous commitment. During his period of office, he has established Audi Hungaria as the world’s biggest engine factory with currently approximately two million engines produced each year. Furthermore, the site has meanwhile become a modern automobile plant with full depth of manufacturing for the Audi TT Coupe and Audi TT Roadster, as well as for the Audi A3 Sedan and the A3 Cabriolet.” Faustmann oversaw the launches of those model series and numerous engine versions, as well as the expansion of capacities and expertise in the areas of toolmaking and engine and vehicle development. In addition, he has helped to develop the region of Győr and the country of Hungary as a location for industry. With pioneering initiatives, cooperative ventures and educational projects, he has thus laid the foundations for the success of future generations.
On the future managing director of Audi Hungaria, Waltl stated: “Like Peter Kössler, Thomas Faustmann has been at the Group for more than 20 years. In his previous positions in Ingolstadt – in particular as plant director – he accumulated a great store of experience and knowledge about Audi’s production processes. In addition, he helped the Ingolstadt site to develop into the technologically leading plant in the Audi Group and into the second‑largest automobile plant in Europe.”
