Although older drivers are statistically considered the safest on the roads, many of them suffer from a loss of confidence and may realise they have picked up some bad habits along the way

Statistically, older drivers are the safest on the roads. The Institute for Advanced Motorists (IAM) notes that the number of drivers over the age of 70 will double over the next 20 years and there are now over one million license holders over the age of 80 in the UK. Many will be able to continue to drive safely well into old age; others will not.
