US: GM cuts 87 Orion skilled trades workers

General Motors is scaling back its Orion Assembly workforce. The Detroit News reports that 87 skilled trades workers have been laid off, effective today (4 February). The cuts cover electricians, toolmakers, millwrights and other specially trained workers who stalled assembly line equipment/tools.
