Chinese EV brand HiPhi rescued by Lebanese investor

HiPhi was one of a number of Chinese OEMs which fell to the competitive pressures of the country’s hyper-competitive EV segment. By Stewart Burnett

Defunct Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand HiPhi is set to resume operations after more than a year of inactivity, following a US$100m capital injection from Lebanese company EV Electra. The automaker’s factory in Jiangsu province will restart production of HiPhi’s original models, maintaining its original annual capacity of 150,000 units.
