Daimler weighs up pulling out of truck production in China

In an interview with the FT, Daimler Truck CEO Karin Rådström stated surviving in North America and Europe might mean big changes in China. By Will Girling

Daimler Truck is considering ending its manufacturing efforts in China amid widespread struggles emanating from both Europe and the US. In a 21 July 2025 interview with the Financial Times, Chief Executive Karin Rådström said the global situation was “crazy” with “almost no period of normal” since taking on the top job in October 2024.
