GM to invest US$888m in New York V-8 engine production

The development follows a prior investment of US$579 to build the V-8 engine in Michigan. By Stewart Burnett

General Motors has announced it will invest US$888m at its Tonawanda Propulsion plant in New York to produce sixth-generation V-8 engines for trucks and SUVs. The investment marks GM's largest single engine plant investment to date, and shifts from a previously announced US$300m commitment to build e-drive units at the facility.
