Volvo Truck & Bus future model plans and production outlook

Volvo Group – which included the wholly-owned Volvo, Renault and Mack brands – reported consolidated deliveries of 209,200 trucks and buses in 2013, a 2% drop from 2012 (excluding sales by the existing joint ventures).

A planned joint venture between Volvo and Dongfeng has not yet been completed so Dongfeng volumes are also excluded from the above figures. However, long negotiations over the deal should finally come to fruition in mid-2014.

On a like-for-like basis Volvo’s global output is forecast to rise by 27% between 2013 and 2018, boosted by recovering demand in Europe and growth in emerging markets, particularly Asia.
