Tesla will open its first Indian showroom in Mumbai on July 15, formalising its entry into the world's third-largest car market with imported vehicles rather than local manufacturing. The company has imported nearly US$1m worth of vehicles and equipment, including six Model Y units that will face approximately 70% import duties.
