General Motors has confirmed plans to cut approximately 750 jobs at its Oshawa Assembly plant in Canada, reducing operations from three shifts to two. The layoffs, set to begin in Q3, are attributed to the US’ punishing tariffs on vehicle imports as well as softened demand, according to statements from the automaker and the Unifor trade union.
