BYD’s China price war expands to ADAS offerings

BYD’s latest discounts are unlikely to be met warmly by local competitors, which have described its price cuts as “cutthroat” and coercive. By Stewart Burnett

Despite substantial resistance from compatriot automakers and criticism from Chinese state news, BYD’s aggressive price war continues. Now, the automaker is offering a CN¥20,000 (US$2,800) discount for purchasing the Huawei Qiankun Advanced Driving System package, bringing its price down to only CN¥12,000—in other words, 62.5% off.
