Panorama roof featuring infrared absorption wins award in the categories Innovation and High Quality
This year marks the first time that automotive supplier Webasto has won a Plus X award, the world’s greatest prize for innovation in technology, sports and lifestyle. An independent jury pronounced its acclaim for the Webasto panorama roof featuring infrared absorption in the categories for innovation and high quality.
“We are happy that as an innovative automotive supplier we were able to win a prize in the consumer goods industry. This indicates that our technologies are also gaining recognition outside the automotive world”, said Dr. Holger Engelmann, Chairman of the Management Board Webasto SE. The special feature of the prize-winning panorama roof is its capacity to absorb infrared rays. On one hand, this almost completely eliminates the skin-burning effect, the heat radiation felt on the skin. On the other hand, the interior space of the vehicle does not heat up as much as it normally does. This in turn allows for reducing the use of the air-conditioning system, thereby promoting fuel savings.
