Webasto, the world’s market leader for sliding, panorama and convertible roof systems as well as heating systems will be at the Busworld
(20th – 25th October 2017) to present its diverse range of products for buses of all drive types. At the Webasto exhibition stand in Kortrijk, Belgium, in hall 5, booth 507, the company will present innovative heating systems, such as the high-voltage heater (HVH) for electric and hybrid buses, under the motto “Driving A Sustainable Future Together!”. A further highlight is the entry into the development and production of high-voltage battery systems for buses which will further expand the range of expertise of Webasto.

Innovative solutions for electric buses
For the innovative system partner, electromobility is an important future market that is currently picking up speed. The conversion from fossil fuels to electric drives also applies to mini and midi buses. Buses for public transport in particular offer great potential for the company. With its newly developed technologies, Webasto presents solutions for the central challenges of electromobility, such as the energy consumption and range of current battery systems. To this end, Webasto uses its expertise in thermal conditioning to develop high-voltage battery systems with especially good performance and long service life. As a design-to-cost solution, the battery systems can be developed individually for the respective manufacturer’s requirements.

The HVH provides convenience and safety in the interior of hybrid and electric buses and heats the battery. The heater originally developed by Webasto for cars has now been successfully adapted for buses and other commercial vehicles. The HVH 100 is designed for on-board voltages of up to 870 volts – it converts electrical energy into heat almost without loss. The heating capacity is infinitely variable from 0.2 to 10 kW. The HVH has a very light weight of 2,7 kg.

Roof-mounted air conditioning system with high efficiency and powerful heating systems
With the Cool Top 190/220 RT-C, Webasto will also be showing its new roof-mounted air conditioning system which is ideal for larger midi buses. The model with a cooling capacity of up to 22 kW is compatible with the 24 V vehicle electrical system and can be easily and economically mounted on the roof of the vehicle.

In Kortrijk, Webasto will also be presenting the Thermo Top Pro 120 and Thermo Top Pro 150 parking and auxiliary heaters. Both models are particularly suitable for the heating of hybrid buses. High product quality, easy maintenance and low life cycle costs distinguish the Thermo Top Pro models. The units are available in 12 or 24 V versions with 12 or 15 kW heating capacity.
