- Up to 680,000 units in Volkswagen models could be affected

Volkswagen of America has notified the US-American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of an upcoming recall affecting approximately 680.000 Volkswagen vehicles of model years 2006 to 2014 in the United States. Volkswagen has been notified by the agency that certain driver side frontal airbag inflators in Volkswagen vehicles could be defective.
Products of the japanese company are also used in Volkswagen vehicles. Once affected vehicle identification numbers have been identified, Volkswagen will notify all owners of affected vehicles in the U.S.
