The F-Grid* Ohira, Miyagi Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), represented by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), was founded today, and an inaugural meeting held in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.  TMC, Toyota-related companies, and corporations in the Second North Sendai Central Industrial Area in Ohira, Miyagi Prefecture are participants in the LLP that will operate a “smart community” project based around the F-Grid.

The project mainly includes the provision of electric power and heating (including steam and hot water) to LLP members; commissioned equipment sales, leasing, maintenance and management; and the provision of electricity during times of large-scale disasters.  In the future, the LLP will coordinate with Ohira Village while receiving support from national, prefectural, and other government authorities.  Preparations are being made to begin provision of heating and electricity from April 1 of this year.

The LLP aims to contribute to the creation of stable towns integrated with the region and industrial area, as well as to the promotion of regional industries and regional vitalization.
