January 2013 Highlights (year-on-year)

Production in Japan

Toyota – Decreased
Daihatsu – Decreased
Hino – First increase in two months
Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino – Decreased

Sales in Japan
Toyota – Decreased

Lexus-vehicle sales totaled 3,564 units (12.9 percent increase)

Minivehicle sales totaled 2,745 units (1.7 percent increase)

47.5 percent share of market excluding minivehicles (1.0 percentage point decrease)

29.1 percent share of market including minivehicles (2.3 percentage point decrease)

Daihatsu – Decreased
Minivehicle sales totaled approximately 46,000 units (14.4 percent decrease)

29.9 percent share of minivehicle market (5.3 percentage point decrease)

Hino – First decrease in five months

Standard-truck sales totaled approximately 1,200 units (1.4 percent decrease); first decrease in three months

36.1 percent share of the truck* market (5.8 percentage point increase)

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino – Decreased

41.8 percent share of market including minivehicles (3.1 percentage point decrease)

Exports

Toyota – First increase in two months, due to increased exports to North America, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East and Africa

Daihatsu – Decreased, due to decreased exports to Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe

Hino – Decreased, due to decreased exports to North America, Latin America, Oceania, Asia, Africa and the Middle East

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino – First increase in two months

Production outside Japan

Toyota – First increase in two months, due to increased production in Australia, Asia, Latin America and North America; record high for the month of January

Daihatsu – Decreased, due to decreased production in Indonesia and Venezuela

Hino – Nineteenth consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in Asia

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino – First increase in two months; record high for the month of January

*Maximum loading capacity of four tons or more; excluding imported trucks
