Schaeffler’s Linear Technology business unit has now completed its RUE-E range of linear recirculating roller bearing and guideway assemblies through the addition of a new size: The RUE25-E. The new variants of the RUE25-E maintain numerous proven features from the earlier RUE-D series, but stand out thanks to their increased integration of functions. These include a lubricator that distributes the minimum quantity of lubricant, for example. This makes lubrication with oil possible regardless of the mounting position and without additional precautions such as the addition of lubricant connectors on both sides.
Lower friction, higher power density
Optimizations made to the design, materials, and manufacturing process allowed the friction and displacement resistance to be reduced by approximately 40%. This produces an increase in performance in terms of the running characteristics and dynamic values, as well as the maximum travel speed (up to 3 m/s). The power density is therefore higher while size and dimensions remain similar. The optimized sealing concept of the RUE-E series was completely maintained. Even the standard design features double lip end wipers. These keep the lubricant inside the carriage and prevent the ingress of contamination. The rolling element recirculating systems are thus perfectly sealed for every conceivable practical application.
The new series can be installed as a 1-to-1 replacement for its predecessor. The guideways remain unchanged, but the carriages and guideways can now be combined in any way desired. They can now be ordered (in accuracy classes G2 and G3) and stored separately. This reduces the procurement and stockholding outlay while ensuring a high level of availability. The RUE25-E linear recirculating roller bearing and guideway assemblies are available in a standard flange version, with a long flange carriage, and with a high and long carriage. Customers have a choice of guideways in a standard (screw mounting from above), “U” (screw mounting from below), or “ADK” (clamped covering strip) versions.
Further equipment options for individual requirements include closing plugs (for standard guideways) available in plastic, brass, and steel, the Corrotect and Protect A corrosion and wear protection coatings, the RUDS damping carriage, and the BKE braking/clamping element.
