SAE International’s Automotive Engineering International (AEI) magazine offers a new webcast on automotive composites materials. “Composites: Are They Ready for Prime Time?” will be held Thursday, March 7 at Noon (EST). During this free, 60-minute, live broadcast, panelists will examine the new wave of lightweight, structurally robust composite materials designed to help automakers meet new, ultra-stringent fuel-efficiency regulations. During the webcast:
– Christopher Basela, Corvette Body Structures Composites Lead Engineer, will offer an exclusive, inside look at the Corvette C7’s carbon-fiber-intensive body structure and its use of carbon and nano technology
– Duane Emerson, Senior Development Engineer at Ticona, will reveal new developments in thermoplastic composite materials technology for vehicle interior and exterior applications
– David Mason, Vice President, Global Automotive, at Altair, will discuss how modeling and FE analysis tools can help engineers optimize their structural composite designs.
– Webcast attendees will be invited to interact with the experts during a Q&A segment. The webcast is hosted by AEI and sponsored by Ticona and MSC Software. To learn more about “Composites: Are They Ready for Prime Time?” click here. To find the start time in different time zone, click here.
