Leading French Automotive Group, PSA, owner of the Peugeot and Citroën brands, has awarded its first ‘Best Plant’ award for ‘outstanding supplier services in 2013’ to Hirschmann Car Communication’s Hungarian production location.
Hirschmann Car Communication GmbH is based near Stuttgart, Germany, and is a global leader in the supply of transmission and receiver systems for mobile communication, as well as being a specialist in the field of in-car entertainment. The Hungarian facility in Békéscsaba produces high-performance antenna systems, amplifiers and high-frequency components for vehicle manufacturers and the aftermarket.
Accepting the award from PSA at a ceremony near its headquarters in Paris, France, Managing Director of Hirschmann Car Communication Hungary, Peter Inzenhofer, commented: “To be the first suppliers to be presented with this award by the PSA Group is a great honour. It not only commends the work of our employees in Békéscsaba, it proves that Hirschmann excels in the areas of customer satisfaction and product excellence. Congratulations to everyone who played a role in this fantastic achievement.”
This was the tenth time that the PSA Group has presented the supplier awards but the first time it has included a ‘best plant’ category. The business presented awards to less than 5 percent of its partner companies, across eight categories.
All product manufactured at the plant adheres to modern testing and manufacturing concepts. The plant is certified to ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001.
