Only two and a half years after start of production, the 20,000th locally produced vehicle rolled off the assembly line at Daimler Trucks in Asia. The anniversary truck is a BharatBenz 2523C tipper

Production milestone at Daimler Trucks in India: Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) yesterday crossed the milestone of 20,000th locally produced BharatBenz and FUSO trucks from its plant in Chennai, South-West India. The wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG achieved this production mark only two and a half years after start of production of the first BharatBenz heavy-duty truck. The anniversary truck is a BharatBenz 2523C tipper.

About half of the 20,000 locally produced vehicles have been manufactured just within 2014, highlighting the rapid growth that the production site has recently experienced.
