Development site for app developers expedites build of apps compatible with AppRadio platform

Pioneer expands smartphone connectivity support for its AppRadio platform of products with the launch of its AppRadio Development Centre (ADC), http://www.appradiodev.com/, a site created for developers interested in making their apps compatible with Pioneer’s line up of AppRadio products. The AppRadio Development Centre will provide the integration process, developer information and app certification for creating apps suitable for the AppRadio platform, which already supports more than 36 apps offering users a mix of entertainment and services designed specifically for in-vehicle use such as navigation.

Pioneer’s AppRadio platform of products includes two AppRadio products and several additional devices integrated with the AppRadio Mode functionality (previously named Advanced App Mode), including multimedia receivers and navigation systems. Pioneer’s extensive library of in-vehicle apps works with both the Apple iOS and Google Android OS platforms.

“We now have more than three dozen apps available for our line of AppRadio products and we continue to work with popular services in high demand, to incorporate their entertainment functionality into our products,” said Ronan McDonagh, General Manager Car Multimedia Technology Planning, Pioneer Europe. “With the launch of the AppRadio Development Centre, we will be able to offer even more third-party apps to consumers and help developers to quickly integrate their apps with our compatible products.”
