On July 25, 2013, the Automotive Hall of Fame will honor Neil De Koker, president and CEO, Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA), with a Distinguished Service Citation Award at the 2013 Induction & Awards Ceremony. The Automotive Hall of Fame’s oldest recognition, the Distinguished Service Citation, recognizes an individual who has significantly improved the industry or his or her respective organization. Additional 2013 citation recipients include James McElya, former president and CEO of Cooper-Standard, and former OESA board chairman, and Bo Andersson, president and CEO of the GAZ Group.
“This is a great honor for anyone in the automotive industry,” said De Koker. “I formed OESA fifteen years ago to be the preeminent network and leading advocate for original equipment suppliers in North America. This award is a tribute to the OESA staff and all of our member companies that help us realize our mission. I believe that OESA has played a role in the improved collaboration and productivity of the industry since our inception.”
In addition, the following individuals will be inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame:
- Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin, founders of Aston Martin
- David E Cole, Chairman Emeritus of the Center of Automotive Research (CAR)
- Robert A. Lutz – Former General Motors Vice Chairman
- Sir John Young “Jackie” Stewart – One of the world’s top Formula One drivers.
