Car manufacturer Nissan has agreed a three year partnership to sponsor Sky Sports’ FA Premier League (FAPL) coverage, starting with its biggest ever season from 13 August.

As part of the agreement Nissan will become the exclusive weekend sponsor for all of Sky Sports’ Premier League action.

In addition to live TV, Nissan will be the sole sponsor of all the Premier League previews, reviews, editorial articles, stats, facts and figures on Sky Sports.com.  In 2015, online video views increased by approximately 175% as Sky Sports continued to innovate across a changing world of sports consumption.

The partnership is another example of Nissan’s ever increasing involvement in football and sport, which also includes their global sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League. As part of their promise to offer ‘innovation that excites’ Nissan is able to bring excitement to thousands of football fans around the world via exclusive assets such as Goal of the Week and the chance to be a Centre Circle Carrier during UEFA Champions League matches.

Nissan is also the global automotive partner of City Football Group, an organisation including Nissan majority owned Yokohama F. Marinos alongside Manchester City FC, Manchester City Women’s FC, New York City FC, and Melbourne City FC.

Speaking about Nissan’s latest football partnership Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Vice President for Marketing at Nissan Europe commented: “Innovation and excitement are at the heart of what we do at Nissan, and as we saw last season the unexpected nature of the Premier League makes it one of the most exciting football leagues not only in Europe but across the world. This coming FA Premier League season is sure to be one of the most hotly anticipated in years for football fans globally. With 126 live Premier League matches, Sky Sports offers customers more of the biggest, most exciting games than any other provider. It’s just one of the reasons why this partnership is such a perfect match for Nissan and the ideal way to continue our commitment to exciting customers through football”.

Nissan’s partnership begins with the new Premier League season in August 2016, and runs to July 2019.

John Litster, MD, Sky Media said: “The Premier League’s 25-year relationship with Sky Sports has helped to create the world’s most popular domestic league. Sky Sports is highly complementary with Nissan, and we look forward to a truly great partnership.”
