What is the feasibility of natural gas as an alternative fuel? To limit dependency on imported oil, natural gas has been getting a great deal of attention as an alternative fuel because of its clean burning qualities and domestic availability. A new SAE International symposium will explore the viability of this technology.

The “SAE  2013 International Natural Gas Symposium” will be held March 12-13 at the International Center for Automotive Research at Clemson University, Greenville, S.C. The symposium will feature infrastructure strategy for both automotive and commercial vehicles from key operators driving the industry. Learn the best approaches and solutions to using natural gas as an alternative fuel.

Additional topics to be covered will include:

  • Bi-fuel (gasoline and natural gas) powertrains for passenger cars
  • Dual fuel (diesel and natural gas) powertrains for medium and heavy duty trucks
  • Fleet usage
  • Emissions
  • Regulations
  • Density of current infrastructure
  • Domestic and European perspectives
