MOBIS announced the publication of its 2013 sustainability report on June 20. The report details its social, environmental and economic activities and the results achieved over the past year.

Since 2010, MOBIS has published the sustainability report to share its management strategy for achieving the vision of becoming ‘Global Top 5 by 2020’. The report also includes MOBIS’ achievements in social, environmental and economic activities made through implementation of this strategy and its pledge for a more sustainable future.

This year’s sustainability report has particularly embraced the opinions of internal and external parties concerned in order to look back on the path MOBIS has followed thus far and use this reflection in order to work towards a larger goal.

To this end, MOBIS separated the main parties involved into 8 groups: auto makers, employees, partners, dealers, local community, government/association, media/academia/NGO and stakeholders. MOBIS conducted interviews with members of each group in order to take on board a broad range of opinions and canvass suggestions and areas of interest in regard to sustainability. It also served as an effective method to cast light upon the various points of views of those from both inside and outside the company.

Also, the evaluation on the significance of sustainable management-related issues discovered the following main issues: ▲ Investment to strengthen research capabilities; ▲ technology for both human and environment; ▲ value improvement through social contribution; ▲ value creation through the shared growth; ▲ top priority on customers and ▲ expansion into the global market. In line with this, the report introduced details about MOBIS’ achievement in the recent investment in R&D infrastructure, eco-friendly auto parts development, the optimization of logistics system in and outside the country, social contribution activities, the localization of auto parts through cooperation with the first and second partners and conglomerates, and its efforts for customer-oriented service and expansion into the global market.

This report especially showed the practical result of creating value through its main activities, which include the development of eco-friendly auto parts, the optimization of its logistics system and ongoing cooperation with partners in quantitative terms.
MOBIS’ sustainability report has been verified by IPS (the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies) to ensure the reliability of its report publishing process. In addition, MOBIS plans to publish the report in English and Chinese in order to achieve enhanced communication with the global parties involved.

“MOBIS will continue to communicate and respect the parties involved in order to make a more sustainable, better future. This will allow it to create the value they want through ‘customer-oriented core value creation’”, said MOBIS President Jeon Hoseok in his publication statement.
