Mitsubishi Motors USA Foundation, in partnership with O’Brien Mitsubishi of Normal, Illinois, announced today a scholarship fund at Heartland Community College to benefit graduates of Normal Community High School, Normal West High School and Bloomington High School. Each fall, 15 scholarships will be awarded for the next five years at a total of $52,500, or $10,500 per year.
“Mitsubishi holds family and citizenship as core values and has a longstanding history of supporting the local community,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. “MMNA believes charitable giving to organizations is important to the health and well-being of the community and is part of our obligation as good corporate citizens.”
Five students at each of the three local high schools will be awarded scholarships to be used at Heartland Community College. Three scholarships will be for $500 and two scholarships will be for $1,000. In total, 75 scholarships will be granted in the five-year period.
