Nanchang, with a reputation of Eastern Edinburgh, is the first low carbon pilot city in China.
Aug. 17th, JMC Light Truck Low Carbon Tour in China and the National Fuel-Saving Tour Camp kicked-off in Nanchang, the home of Jiangling Motors Co., Ltd. (JMC). Low carbon pioneers from all over the countries and fuel saving masters from provinces like Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, etc. assembled here to advocate and enforce a low carbon and environmental friendly way of living.
At 10:00 a.m., the Kick-off Ceremony of JMC Light Truck Low Carbon Tour in China Nanchang Station was held at Nanchang Greenwood Golf Holiday Hotel, where the leaders, media, volunteers and the audiences on site signed their names on the banner which read “JMC Light Truck Low Carbon Tour in China”. Each signature, although soundless, is like a support and encouragement for this activity.
On the spot, Mr. Du Ruihua, the Chairman of Environmental Protection Branch of Nanchang Charity Volunteers’ Association, presented a lively and interesting “Low Carbon Lifestyle Show” together with the volunteers under the invitation of the sponsor. The audience had a real understanding about the charm of a low carbon lifestyle through watching the programs like How to Make the River Clear, Vegetarian Food DIY, Fashion Show, Sign Language Performance, etc..
Meanwhile, volunteers from Chinese Volunteer Federation Jiangxi Branch sent out plant seeds, environment-protecting tableware and pamphlets about low carbon lifestyle prepared by the Organizing Committee to audience for free, passed on the green and hope. The volunteers also infected everyone on the spot through singing environmental protection songs by means of chorus. They passed on the positive energy of low carbon and environmental protection — “green power, motivation, and action”.
“Low Carbon Tour in China Will Succeed Because of Me” Children’s Artwork Competition is another highlight on site. The lovely children brought a sense of green and vitality to our environment with their wild imagination. After the competition, the leaders and guests of this activity presented the winners with prizes and certificates and posed for a group photo.
In that afternoon, “JMC Light Truck Fuel-Saving Competition” was also held. Eleven light truck owners from over ten cities in Jiangxi, Hunan and Hubei provinces participated in the competition. As champions in each station, they shared the fuel saving secret candidly. In the end, Mr. Hu from Chenzhou, Hunan province won the “Fuel Saving Championship” with the fuel consumption of 6.14706 liter per hundred kilometers. He will take part in the final competition in Beijing with the second prize and third prize winners of Nanchang Station to compete for the 20,000 RMB cash.
“Green power, motivation, and action”- participants in Nanchang station of “JMC Light Truck Low Carbon Tour in China” activity witnessed the relentless pursuit and effort JMC made in environmental protection products and concept. Over the years, JMC kept on supporting low carbon and environmental protection with positive attitude and actions. JMC never forgets advocating energy conservation and emission reduction besides helping its customers to lead a happy life and to build a harmonious society. JMC took part in environmental protection community activities with concrete actions. Before, JMC had held several fuel saving competitions in secession through which fuel saving experience was shared, and the social responsibility of low carbon and environmental protection was also enforced.
