Production in Japan for the month of January 2013 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive month (since December 2012).

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the 12th consecutive month (since February 2012), setting record high production for the month of January. This includes record high production for the month of January in North America and in Asia.

Production worldwide experienced a year-on-year increase for the 13th consecutive month (since January 2012), setting record high production for month of January.

Total Japan domestic market automobile sales for the month of January 2013 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in three months (since October 2012).

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year decrease for the sixth consecutive month (since August 2012).

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the 13th consecutive month (since January 2012).

Fit was the industry’s fourth best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of January 2013 with sales of 8,834 units. Freed was the industry’s seventh best-selling car with sales of 5,656 units. Step WGN was the industry’s tenth best-selling car with sales of 4,658 units.

N BOX was the industry’s top selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of January 2013 with sales of 20,552 units. N-ONE was the industry’s fifth best-selling car with sales of 10,192 units.
