Production in Japan for the month of January 2014 experienced a year-on-year increase for the fifth consecutive month (since September 2013).

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in 24 months (since January 2012). Production in Asia experienced a year-on-year increase for the 15th consecutive month (since November 2012), setting record high production for the month of January. This includes record high production in China.

Production worldwide experienced a year-on-year increase for the sixth consecutive month (since August 2013), setting record high production for the month of January.

Total Japan domestic market automobile sales for the month of January 2014 experienced a year-on-year increase for the sixth consecutive month (since August 2013).

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for the fifth consecutive month (since September 2013).

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the 25th consecutive month (since January 2012).

Fit was the industry’s top selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of January 2014 with sales of 26,869 units. VEZEL was the industry’s ninth best-selling car with sales of 6,235 units.

<Mini-vehicles – under 660cc>
N-WGN was the industry’s second best-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of January 2014 with sales of 17,855 units. N-BOX was the industry’s third best-selling car with sales of 15,552 units.
