Geodis is relocating its national Head Office in India to a larger facility in Gurgaon, close to New Delhi. The inauguration will be taking place on Saturday, December 8th 2012.
Geodis is continuously growing its presence in India. Recently the global freight forwarder has experienced significant expansions in Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai. Over the past 4 years the company has extended its network by 10 new locations, today covering all major sea and air ports of the country.
Rene Bach Larsen, Managing Director, India, Geodis Overseas said, “We are very optimistic about the Indian freight management sector. In line with our corporate strategy, we have focused on vertical solutions for the Indian market, specifically in the segment of automotive, retail, hi-tech, pharma & industrial projects.” The industry focus is a key success factor for Geodis. Since 2009, the annual revenue in India has been more than doubled. “Companies in India shift from price to high-quality service as their primary buying driver. They are looking for a strategic partner that they can rely on for their growing and rapidly changing needs.”
Geodis has been an early trendsetter in supporting companies with logistics services in Asia. The European based group – the 4th largest player of the continent – was one of the first international logistics companies to establish operations in China and India, and has been operating in Asia Pacific for over 30 years.
Underlining its industry focused approach; Geodis is a gold sponsor of the internationally recognized automotive logistics forum ‘Automotive Logistics Conference India 2012’ which brings together the stalwarts of the Indian automotive industry. It takes place in Pune, December 5th–7th.
