Today Freightliner Trucks announced the availability of new options for order with new Freightliner Cascadia trucks produced after July 2017.

The new Freightliner Cascadia, launched to the market in September 2016, will be available with the new Driver Loft configuration that blends the ultimate in comfort with the functional demands to surpass a driver’s expectations for life on the road. Additionally, new options for improved customer specification and performance are available for order.

The Freightliner Driver Loft features groundbreaking sleeper design and ergonomics, including a multi-faceted dinette/work table and opposing seating with safety belts. The seats can be folded down to facilitate a comfortable murphy-style bed. Additionally, standard features include aircraft-inspired LED ambient lighting and a dimmer switch for personalized light adjustments.

“The new Freightliner Cascadia is a marvel of commercial vehicle design and engineering,” said Mary Aufdemberg, director, Freightliner Product Marketing. “Our goal in designing the new Freightliner Driver Loft was to provide unsurpassed form and function to provide the comfort, convenience and work space our customers demand.”

The new options available include:

  • 116″ BBC Daycab with Detroit™ DD13 engine
  • 2.16 Detroit direct drive axle ratio
  • 2.64 Detroit overdrive axle ratio (available November 2017)
  • Hendrickson Steertek front suspension
  • 13.3K front taperleaf suspension
  • Cummins X15 engine
  • Eaton Advantage Automated Manual Transmission

Designed and engineered with an emphasis on six Real Cost of Ownership solutions the new Cascadia sets the benchmark for fuel efficiency, safety, connectivity, quality, uptime and driver experience. The new Cascadia (equipped with AeroX and Integrated Detroit Powertrain (IDP) including a GHG17 DD15 engine, DT12 with Intelligent Powertrain Management (IPM4) and 2.16 direct drive axle ratio) boasts up to an 8-percent fuel economy increase over a similarly spec’d 2016 Cascadia Evolution.
