Elektrobit provides AUTOSAR software to SemiDrive automotive SoC devices

Integrated hardware-software solution to accelerate the development of advanced applications for automotive ECUs, enabling car makers and suppliers to more quickly bring next-gen vehicles to market

Elektrobit (EB), a visionary global supplier of embedded and connected software products for the automotive industry, today announced it will provide its EB tresos Classic AUTOSAR software to Nanjing SemiDrive Technology Ltd. (SemiDrive), a China-based semiconductor company focusing on next-generation, high-performance, automotive-grade system-on-a-chip (SoC) devices. The companies will make available an integrated hardware-software solution that will make it easier and more cost effective for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to develop advanced applications for automotive electronic control units (ECUs) based on the AUTOSAR standard.

Every car maker is spending significant time and resources developing capabilities for connected and automated driving that will differentiate their vehicles from the competition. EB tresos AutoCore integrated into the SemiDrive devices allows automotive engineering teams to accelerate the process of configuring, validating and generating ECU basic software, accelerating the development cycle and enabling them to more quickly bring vehicles with advanced features to market while reducing cost.

EB tresos AutoCore is the industry standard for AUTOSAR-compliant development, consisting of scalable basic software and tools that enable the development of automotive ECUs with the highest levels of functional safety, up to ASIL D. EB has been a premium AUTOSAR member from its inception, and continues to be a leader in AUTOSAR education and implementation in series production projects and works with industry partners to accelerate next-generation automotive development platforms.

SemiDrive’s (X9, G9, and V9) devices are developed with an ISO 26262-compliant functional safety management system, optimized for automotive applications such as smart cockpits, central gateways and autonomous driving.

“Today’s announcement builds on the existing collaboration we have with SemiDrive, a fast-growing Chinese semiconductor company. By integrating EB tresos, our Classic AUTOSAR software, in SemiDrive SoCs we’re providing a ‘one-stop-shop’ for hardware and software, making it even easier for our customers to develop their automotive ECUs more efficiently and cost effectively. It also reflects EB’s determination to support local Chinese semiconductor companies,” said Woody Zou, Managing Director China, Elektrobit.

“Like Elektrobit, we are committed to driving innovation that benefits our customers. Our expanded partnership with EB strengthens SemiDrive’s leading technological advantage in the field of intelligent networked vehicles, our initiative to bring to market highly integrated devices that facilitate the development of the most advanced, next-generation vehicles,” said SemiDrive Chairman Zhang Qiang.
