Thomas R. Stover, Vice President, Technology-Vehicle Group, Eaton Corporation, is selected as the  2014-2016 Vice President of Commercial Vehicle nominee for SAE International.

Mr. Stover will be elected to the three-year term by the SAE International general membership in November and will begin his term on January 07, 2014. He succeeds Bharat Vedak, Vice President, TCI and Deliver Customer Value, Deere & Company, who served from 2011-2013.

As SAE International’s Vice President of Commercial Vehicle, Mr. Stover will be responsible for providing leadership and continuity for the Society’s commercial vehicle initiative and for integrating the needs of the industry in SAE International’s standards, events and educational programs. SAE International also elects vice presidents for its aerospace and automotive. In 1992, Mr. Stover became a member of SAE International.

In May 2002, Mr. Stover joined Eaton Corporation as Engineering Manager-Truck Technology, at the Eaton Innovation Center in Southfield, Michigan. In that role, he was responsible for leading the development and demonstration of advanced technologies, including hybrid systems, advanced transmission concepts, emission control systems and powertrain systems integration. In March, 2007, Mr. Stover was named Vice President – Technology for Eaton’s Truck Group, and currently has responsibility for technology, innovation and engineering excellence for Eaton Truck worldwide.

Between 1977 and 2002, Mr. Stover was employed by Cummins Engine Company. While at Cummins, his responsibilities included the development of new advanced turbo-machinery, development of engine performance and emissions control systems, and the design and development of new engine products.
