New application puts consumer behind the wheel of their own virtual city

Today, Chevrolet launched “Spark Social City,” an experiential application that that places users at the center of an online world inspired by their unique social interests and favorite experiences.

“Spark Social City” creates a digital city for users by integrating their Facebook profile interests, friend groups and past events to build a corner of the world completely unique to them. Behind the wheel of Chevrolet’s new Spark, users can drive through a virtual city in 3D where every neighborhood, building and road is recognizable.

“‘Spark Social City’ is all about making the journey for our customers as exciting as the destination,” said Beate Stumpe, Director Brand and Marketing, Chevrolet Europe. “The essence of this application is simple. We want our community to have fun and feel more connected to their friends and family both on and off the road.”

Hosted on Chevrolet’s YouTube channel, consumers can view their own “Spark Social City” and easily share with their friends at sparksocialcity.com. The application is currently available for download in Korea and now for users in Germany, France, Italy, Belgium and Poland. In other European markets and outside Europe, an English version will be available.
