Charles Shappell, Chief Engineer NVH Simulation, Faurecia has been confirmed as a speaker at Fuel Economy Detroit.
Charles Shappell has been involved in the design and development of automotive combustion engines and powertrain components for 20 years. He joined Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies in 2011. His current responsibilities include managing the team that develops acoustic solutions for the North American exhaust market. In this role Shappell has driven many new innovations into Faurecia’s products including the use of lightweight strategies for emissions systems.
Prior to joining Faurecia, Shappell spent 15 years with Kolbenschmidt-Pierburg where he held various positions in product design and development. During this time his work involved power cylinder optimization and friction reduction strategies for gasoline and diesel engines.
