Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) today announced the release of the Bridgestone Group’s Sustainability Report 2015 Digest.
Regarding our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Bridgestone Group has disclosed detailed information on our corporate website and published the CSR Report and the Environmental Report as tools to facilitate stakeholder understanding of our activities. To communicate the Group’s position on sustainability and related activities more effectively to our stakeholders, starting in 2016, the Group is integrating the CSR Report and the Environmental Report and discloses non-financial information in the Sustainability Report as a complement to the Annual Report, which covers mainly financial information. This time, Bridgestone has released the digest version of the Sustainability Report which conveys a summary of our position on sustainability and related activities; more detailed information, including Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) key performance indicators (KPIs), will be disclosed in the full version of the Sustainability Report 2015 published in June.
To communicate initiatives intended to increase corporate value over the medium to long term, the Group reports financial and non-financial information through various communication tools. In preparing these reports, the Group referred to the International Integrated Reporting Framework proposed by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC)*. The Group describes for a wide range of stakeholders its fundamental management policies for achieving sustainable growth, clarifies the social and environmental issues that it seeks to address, and proactively discloses the initiatives that it is taking to address those issues.
