Ben Kraaijenhagen, VP, Head of Group Division Product Strategy and Requirements, MAN Truck & Bus has been confirmed as a speaker in the Powertrain Innovation session at Automotive World Megatrends Europe 14, taking place on September 10-11, 2014. Kraaijenhagen will look at the key breakthroughs in commercial vehicle powertrain technology that will lead to greater fuel economy and emissions reduction.
Ben has had over 30 years of experience in the international truck, transport and logistics industry. He joined MAN Truck & Bus AG in early 2005, and was responsible for Product Marketing and the driver behind the current successful TGL, TGM, TGS and TGX series, which were launched in 2007.
Since 2007 Ben has been the Head of central division Foresight, Product Strategy, Requirements and Positioning for Trucks at MAN Truck & Bus AG.
In his current role he is leading a team specialising in foresight, monitoring and analysing trends, creation of scenarios, defining new concepts and technologies to be developed for the coming decades.
His focus is sustainable transport and mobility and he is involved in many workshops and interviews with focus groups to discuss and mirror future requirements regarding new legislations, regulations, awareness of climate and human changes. Ben also has a high involvement in many projects to develop concept vehicles including MAN Concept S and MAN Metropolis.
Organised by Automotive World, Megatrends Europe ’14 is a two-day, six-stream conference focusing on Commercial Vehicles and Passenger Cars.
Kraaijenhagen will speak in the Commercial Vehicles Powertrain Innovation session, which will focus on topics including OEM and supplier strategy, emission standards, engine downsizing, lubricants, lightweighting, hybridisation and alternative fuels.
