Barbara Bonvissuto, Deputy Head of Unit – Sustainable Mobility & Automotive Unit, DG Enterprise & Industry, European Commission, has been confirmed for the Fuel Efficiency & Emissions Reduction stream at Automotive World’s CV Megatrends Europe 2013, taking place on 12 November 2013.
Barbara Bonvissuto has been Deputy Head of Unit of the Sustainable Mobility and Automotive Unit in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry since December 2011.
In her current position she is responsible, together with the Head of Unit, for managing and planning the activities of the unit, whose mission focuses on strengthening the competitiveness of the European automotive industry by implementing an effective internal market regulatory framework and international regulatory harmonisation, as well as enhancing co-ordination of policy areas affecting the sector. The unit is also responsible for the competitiveness of the railway supply industry.
Ms Bonvissuto joined the Commission in 2001, and during her career at the Commission has been mainly responsible for internal market and international issues.
Ms Bonvissuto has a PhD in Community law.
