Audi of America has appointed Matt Carpenter as vice president and chief financial officer. Matt will be responsible for the financial planning, steering, controlling, reporting and target achievement at Audi of America. He reports to Scott Keogh, president, Audi of America.

“Matt knows how to work within this company, both in the U.S. and in Germany,’’ Keogh said. “He knows our business and our stakeholders, and he operates with the credibility earned by excelling in various roles within Audi over the past decade. I look forward to seeing how his unique mix of talents can benefit us as we enter an unprecedented period of growth and change in this industry and our company.’’

Matt, 36, joined Audi of America in 2007 as a business management consultant in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and later as vehicle merchandising manager. His most recent role at Audi of America was general manager, vehicle sales.

In 2015, Matt was appointed general manager, dealer remarketing for VW Credit, Inc., where he was responsible for the management and liquidation of the company’s Audi and Volkswagen corporate vehicle assets and captive lease portfolio. For the past five months, he has been on foreign assignment in Ingolstadt, Germany, in AUDI AG’s controlling department.

”The degree of change occurring in today’s transportation business is unprecedented, and Audi is executing a plan to accelerate our growth plans in North America,’’ Matt said. “Rapidly shifting consumer trends have led to new product and technology requirements, and our business will evolve with our marketplace. I’m honored and excited to help steer Audi’s decisions on product portfolio, business operations, strategic partnerships and investments to ensure we grow profitably in America.’’

Matt replaces Christian Schroth, who after a four-year assignment with Audi of America, has returned to AUDI AG in Germany, where he will lead the digital transformation of the finance area of the Audi Group.

Before Audi, Matt held various positions at Ford Motor Company. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
