Aha by HARMANTM today announced further expansion of entertainment and lifestyle programing available on its platform through partnerships with streaming innovators Entertainment Radio Network, the Kaliki Audio Newsstand, and Storynory. Aha brings a world of infotainment to its users on their smart phones and in their cars with more than 30,000 stations of content spanning from the most popular mainstream programs to unique niche interests. By the end of 2013, Aha will be installed into vehicles by more than 10 auto manufacturers which in total represent more than 50 percent of all cars sold in the USA/Canada and up to 30 percent in Europe.

Through Aha’s collaboration with its newest content partners, Aha users can tune into informative podcasts full of healthy diet and exercise advice from the editors of Shape magazine or get the latest celebrity gossip from Star. Children’s content is now available, giving parents the ability to entertain and educate children with dozens of classic storybooks from Robin Hood to Cinderella to mythology lessons and more from the Storynory podcast.

“There are numerous innovative companies turning written language into audio content so that consumers can listen to their favorite media while they keep their primary focus elsewhere, like on the road,” said Chia-Lin Simmons, Vice President of Marketing and Content for Aha. “We are just scratching the surface of audio content available on Aha and adding new choices all the time. With so many types of content to choose from, sleek new apps for Android and iPhone and more than 10+ automakers integrating the service, Aha is poised to become the entertainment platform of choice among consumers in 2013.”

How Aha works: After downloading Aha’s free app for iPhone or Android, consumers can use their phone to select and organize their top stations from over 30,000 choices. When the phone is connected to a compatible in-vehicle entertainment system, the users’ favorite Aha stations become radio preset buttons. When they exit the car, users can seamlessly continue to enjoy their music with their smart phone.

About Aha by HARMAN
Aha is an interactive service of HARMAN International Industries that makes Web content as easy and safe to use as radio. Aha uses the Harman Cloud Platform to organize content from the Web into personalized radio stations that consumers can listen to from anywhere — at home, on the go, or safely from the driver’s seat. By the end of 2013, Aha will be installed into vehicles by more than 10 automotive manufacturers, which in total represent more than 50 percent of all cars sold in the USA/Canada and up to 30 percent in Europe, including Acura, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Porsche and Subaru. The Aha platform and service was started in 2008 in Silicon Valley by a group of Web and multimedia veterans with a shared passion for delivering an “always on” audio experience to connect drivers to the content they really want. HARMAN, the company that designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of audio and infotainment solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets, acquired Aha in September 2010.
