A continued decline in the overall auto market in India and a lack of new model releases has left Tata Motors on the back foot of the domestic passenger vehicle market. However, the OEM has recently announced its new series of Revotron gasoline engines, the first since the company entered the passenger vehicle segment in 1998. For a company that has put so much onto diesel, the move indicates Tata is finally accepting market conditions and shifting its focus.
