VW, Audi and Porsche ‘fall far short’ with recall plans

CARB has delivered yet another blow to VW, Audi and Porsche by refusing recall plans for a significant number of diesel models. By Michael Nash

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has rejected proposed recall plans submitted by Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche for 16,000 passenger cars that were manufactured for MY2009 to MY2016. According to the regulator, the plans “are incomplete, substantially deficient, and fall far short of meeting the legal requirements to return these vehicles to the claimed certified configuration.”
