US$30m wind tunnel allows GM to reach “industry-leading levels of aerodynamic refinement”

GM has invested in a new wind tunnel that will change its process of vehicle design

GM recently invested US$30m in a new reduced scale wind tunnel. Located at its technical centre in Warren, Michigan, the 35,000 sq-ft facility includes a conveyor-style rolling road system. According to the OEM, this is unique to the reduced scale facility, and has the capability to simulate real-world highway driving conditions up to a top speed of 155mph.
