According to Nokian Tyres, durability has been one of the most requested features for SUV tyres from drivers who “enjoy the passenger car-like features of their large and powerful vehicles.”
As a result, the supplier has decided to extend the use of its Aramid Sidewall Technology – a feature that uses Aramid fibre to stiffen and strengthen the sidewall in the tyre, allowing it to withstand greater impacts. From the beginning of 2016, the technology will be used in the company’s winter tyre portfolio.
Speaking to Automotive World, Petri Niemi, Head of Product and Price Management, Car and Van Tyres, explained the importance of the technology, and the reasons for its inclusion in the Nokian winter tyre range.
