The use of organic materials in the automotive industry is not new. This was primarily brought about due to various factors, such as reduction of energy used to produce a particular component, reduction of weight, or even cut costs. A lack of availability of certain materials, and rising or volatile commodity prices, have also furthered the cause of new organic, renewable materials in the automotive segment.
